Starting this week, another developer and I have begun work on Koom, a new purpose-built Java BTMUX client that is intended as a spiritual successor to THUD. Koom is open-source and thus you, the community, are more than welcome to play with it as it develops, although if you are not a developer or accustomed to working with beta software then you might want to wait for official releases.
At this point, the client is still in its infancy; I've been putting together a projected features list to hack away at and would love input. Obviously, the community's input is crucial to making a client that suits everyone's needs. Feel free to make your suggestions via page/@mail to me, or via a comment on our Google Code page.
Visit http://koom.googlecode.com/ to see the features list, get the source, etc; there are plenty of RSS feeds to keep you appraised of progress. There is also a commit-mail list that will send you an email every time a svn commit is performed at http://groups.google.com/group/koom-commits/.
